Estimates of the number of persons served annually are made from the data collected during the Patient
Characteristics Survey week and used to compute the following measures in the Uniform Reporting System Output
Tables: penetration rate by age, gender and race/ethnicity, community utilization, employment status, living
situation, homelessness, Medicaid funding status, adults/children with co-occurring Mental Health and
Substance Abuse disorders, percent of Adults with Serious Mental Illness, and percent of children with Severe
Emotional Disturbance.
