Statistics

The NYS Consumer Assessment of Care (CACS) survey has been administered annually in its current form since 2009. Providers of state operated outpatient mental health services at New York State's seventeen Adult Psychiatric Centers distribute surveys to consumers each year during the month of May. Among participating program types are: Clinic, Intensive Case Management (ICM), Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Nursing Home Support, Sheltered Works and Psychosocial Clubs.

Adult consumers complete the CACS anonymously providing feedback on their perception of various aspects of services they receive from their program, including: overall quality, appropriateness, access, outcomes resulting from services and quality of life. All surveys are sent to NYS OMH for processing.

The CACS portal includes survey data from 2009 forward. CACS reports are updated annually (by December) with the adult consumer responses for the current year. Reports display consumer responses by survey year and in a variety of aggregate reports (by facility, program, program type, region, county, statewide and demographic characteristics). No individual level data are available in this portal.

The reports displayed on this tab show the percent of respondents who responded positively ('percent positive') by survey domains. Reports of findings by facility for four demographic categories (age, gender, race and Hispanic ethnicity) by facility are available using the drop down selection boxes that allow selection of facility and demographic category.
